We were happy to be able to hold our prices steady for 2 years after the
oil spike of 2009, but once again, as the cost of oil rises so does the cost of feed, and so our prices also have had
to go up to keep pace. Thank you for understanding.

Our fresh
eggs are available on the farm, at the Harvest Moon, Greens Garage, and Blue Ridge Restaurant in Floyd, through the Seven
Springs CSA, Good Food Good People CSA, at the Blacksburg Farmers Market, and occasionally in the winter months at Eats
Natural Food Co-op and Annie Kays in Blacksburg . As always, we gladly accept all clean egg carton returns. Keep 'em
rolling in, it helps keep our prices down. Thanks!
CHICKEN: $2.95/lb fresh, $3.50/lb at market
Our broilers are available by pre-order May through Oct on specified pick-up dates. Please see
schedule and order form for ordering. All poultry pick up will be here at Weathertop, always from 2-4 in the afternoon.
Please bring coolers and your own bags for the chickens (grocery bags are quick & easy for transport and ziploc
freezer bags work best if you plan on freezing them whole). Average weight is around 4.5 lb each. Also available
at the Blacksburg market, frozen, late May-Oct.
PORK: $1.75/lb live weight plus fees to the butcher.
Available spring and fall by the whole or half. Pre-order only. An "average"
live weight would be about 260 lbs for a whole, and about 130 lbs for a half hog. For a ball park figure with all
butcher fees included you can expect that a half will cost between $275-300 and a whole between $550-600 total.
You will take home approximately 150lbs for a whole/ 75 lbs for a half of custom-cut-to-order, vacuum-packed pork.
TURKEYS: $3.00/lb on farm
Available Oct and Nov (for Thanksgiving). If you are ordering a Nov turkey you can expect
an average weight close to 20 lbs. If you would like a smaller bird, in the 10-15 lb range, please order for October.
All turkey pick up will be here at Weathertop from 2-4 on specified dates.
DUCK EGGS: $4.00/doz on farm, $5.00/doz at market
We still maintain a small flock of ducks who keep us entertained by hatching out ducklings
in the summer and performing funny antics as well as supplying us with some superlative eggs, especially wonderful
for baking with!
TWO-YEAR OLD
LAYERS: $4.50 each
We regularly sell off our older laying flocks. They are past prime farm production,
but they are great for a home flock. Give us a call if you're interested.
